About the Program

Yanayi Haki Afriqya (Climate Justice Africa) is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for Cohort 2 of the Capacity Building and Skill Sharing for Climate Activists Program (CBSSCAP).

CBSSCAP is a pan-African capacity-building initiative designed to equip young climate activists with knowledge, skills, and networks to meaningfully engage in climate policy, advocacy, and UNFCCC processes, while implementing community-based climate action projects.

The program builds on the success of CBSSCAP Cohort 1 (2024) and is part of the SEED for Climate Justice project supported by MISEREOR.

Program Duration

March – November 2026 (9months)

Who Can Apply?

We invite applications from young climate activists who meet the following criteria:

  1. Aged 18–30 years 
  2. Citizen or resident of DRC, Malawi, Mauritius, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan & Uganda
  3. Actively engaged in climate activism, environmental justice, or community development
  4. Demonstrated interest in climate policy, advocacy, or international climate processes
  5. Ability to commit time to training sessions, mentorship, and project implementation
  6. Strong motivation to implement a community-based climate action project

Note: Gender balance and applications from marginalized communities are strongly encouraged.

What the Program Offers

Selected participants will benefit from:

  1. Training on climate policy, UNFCCC processes, NDCs, climate finance, and advocacy
  2. Mentorship and coaching from experienced climate practitioners
  3. Support to design and implement a local climate action project
  4. Access to regional and international climate networks (including youth and policy platforms)
  5. Opportunities to engage in national and international climate dialogues
