African Youth Position Paper for COP31

Climate Justice Africa, through Yanayi Haki Afriqya (YHA) and its partners, is developing the African Youth Position Paper for COP31 to amplify the voices and priorities of young people across the continent.Through the YHA Dialogues: Road to COP31, youth and key stakeholders will engage through technical webinars and regional consultations across North, West, Central, East, and Southern Africa.

The position paper will focus on key priorities including climate finance, adaptation, Loss and Damage, just energy transition, green industrialization, food and water security, biodiversity, climate governance, youth leadership, gender equality, and climate justice.

The initiative aims to build a unified African youth agenda and strengthen meaningful youth participation in climate decision-making ahead of COP31.

African youth are not just the future of climate action. We are shaping it today.
