From April to June 2026, Yanayi Haki Afriqya (Climate Justice Africa) expanded its impact across Uganda, Africa, and the global climate movement through education, advocacy, partnerships, and youth leadership.
A major milestone was the launch of the Climate Change Integration for Educators (CCIE) programme in Uganda. The six-month hybrid initiative equips teachers with practical climate knowledge and innovative teaching approaches, with more than 40 educators from 30 districts expected to reach over 10,000 learners nationwide.
YHA also strengthened its continental presence by participating in the 6th African Youth SDGs Summit in Ghana, building new partnerships and contributing to conversations on youth leadership and sustainable development.
On the global stage, YHA represented Africa’s priorities at the UN Climate Change Conference (SB64) in Bonn, Germany. Through policy advocacy, the organization called for accessible climate finance, stronger support for adaptation and loss and damage, a just transition, and meaningful participation of young people and frontline communities in climate decision-making.
The quarter also saw the launch of the Youth4Hope Fellowship, a 15-month international programme connecting young leaders from four continents. Although the first physical gathering was moved from Uganda to India due to the Ebola outbreak, the fellowship continues to strengthen global collaboration through virtual engagement.
Meanwhile, the Capacity Building and Skills Sharing for Climate Activists Programme (CBSSCAP) entered its second cohort, selecting 50 participants from six African countries out of more than 530 applicants. Participants are already leading community outreach initiatives that have reached over 10,000 people.
As YHA continues to grow, the organization expanded its team, advanced flagship programmes, and is preparing for its annual Climate Dialogues and COP31 engagement, ensuring African voices remain at the centre of global climate action.
